Disability Support Worker

Hope and Care is a registered NDIS provider servicing Sydney Inner West & Outer and the Greater Southwest region.

With our continued growth, we are seeking Disability Support Workers (DSW) to join our team immediately. You will be working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

As a DSW, you will be looking to build a person's capacity and support them to achieve their goals by using their preferred communication methods and you will work within a team environment to promote our participant's dignity, independence, and rights.

MUST BE available for daytime shifts. If you are only available in the afternoons/on weekends, please do not apply.

Some tasks required:

· Driving participants out for community access such as Dr appointments, shopping, or skill development activities

· Providing support to our participants with complex and/or high behavioural support needs to complete daily living tasks

· Provide personal care such as grooming, toileting, dressing, and/or showering which involves manual handling

To be a successful, you MUST satisfy the following ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

· Relevant Qualifications including Certificate III in Disability or Individual Support Certificate.

· Valid Australian Drivers’ License

· Current CPR (1 year) & First Aid (3 years) Certificates

· Working with Children Check

· Police Check

· NDIS Orientation module certificate





· NDIS Worker screening check (required if you are successful in your application)

· ABN and own public liability insurance

To be successful in your application, you will be required to:

· Be passionate about helping people with disabilities

· Be available to work shifts from Monday to Sunday (flexible schedule available)

· Work a rotating roster, including morning, afternoon, nights, and weekend shifts

· Perform hoisting and personal care duties

· Have a working understanding of person-centered approach

· Be comfortable supporting adult clients with intellectual/physical disabilities or mental health diagnoses

· Uphold the confidentiality and personal boundaries of participants

· Uphold choice and control and ensure rights of participants are always maintained

Pay: $24.95 – $54.46 per hour
