What you'll be doing

To provide effective Mental Health services to the patients while working under supervision, in order to develop expertise in psychiatric practice, in a complex clinical environment. Trainee-Unaccredited Position will provide general psychiatric care to patients under the supervision of a consultant psychiatrist. Training opportunities are provided in adult psychiatry and all psychiatric subspecialties and specialized secondary and tertiary referral services including Child and Adolescent (C&A;) psychiatry, Perinatal psychiatry, Mood Disorders, Early Intervention and Youth Mental Health, Psychogeriatric & Consultation-Liaison psychiatry.

The training network provides training in accordance with training requirements of the Royal Australian and Current Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) to support progression toward becoming a Trainee with the RANZCP.





- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
- A minimum of three months experience in psychiatry OR demonstrated achievement of significant skills in another clinical specialty or primary care medicine that is transferrable to the psychiatric care of patients .
- Demonstrated experience in taking a comprehensive patient history, performing clinical examinations and accurately documenting treatment in the patients record.
- Able to make sound decisions in accordance with level of experience and awareness of limitations and the ability to learn independently from experience and improve clinical practice.
- Proven ability to treat colleagues and patients with respect in a culturally diverse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure the appropriate management of the patient.
- NSW unrestricted drivers license or eligible overseas/international driving license.
