About Us
GAMI Chicken Fountain Gate is part of Australia's leading Korean fried chicken restaurant group, renowned for delivering authentic Korean flavours, exceptional customer service, and high-quality dining experiences. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team on a permanent full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting Korean and Western menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Preparing ingredients, sauces, marinades and accompaniments for daily kitchen operations.
- Monitoring food quality, portion control and presentation to ensure consistency.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and sanitation in accordance with Australian Food Safety Standards.
- Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assisting with menu preparation and food production planning.
- Monitoring stock levels, stock rotation and minimising food wastage.
- Receiving and checking deliveries of food supplies.
- Working collaboratively with the Head Chef/Cook and kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Assisting in training junior kitchen staff where required.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
- Complying with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- At least two years of relevant commercial cooking experience; or
- A relevant Certificate III or higher qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as required.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Experience preparing Korean cuisine will be highly regarded but is not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate.
