The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our Head Office Finance team based in Williamstown.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a broad, hands-on role covering financial accounting, management reporting, cashflow management, compliance, inventory accounting and commercial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

- Month-end & balance sheet: Manage month-end close and journals, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
- Systems & audit: Ensure the integrity of financial data in SAP Business One (SAP B1) and support year-end and external audit requirements.
- Management reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and Board reporting, including actual vs budget analysis and business trend insights.
- Budgeting & commercial analysis: Assist with budgeting and forecasting, and provide commercial analysis, productivity and profitability reporting.
- Cashflow & working capital: Prepare cashflow forecasts, monitor working capital and debtor/supplier payments, and flag future funding risks.




- Compliance: Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG Instalments, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, FBT and other statutory returns in line with Australian standards.
- Inventory: Analyse inventory levels, coordinate stocktakes with Operations, and investigate variances.
- Insurance & controls: Review company insurance coverage and support improvements to finance processes and internal controls.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee daily AP/AR activities and support strong debtor management.

About You

You’ll be an experienced accountant who enjoys both technical accounting and commercial analysis.

- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or Finance, and CPA, CA or CIMA qualified (or nearing completion).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or similar role, with strong financial and management accounting experience.
- Experience preparing monthly management reports and supporting year-end audits.
- Strong SAP Business One (SAP B1) experience (highly regarded) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
