What you'll be doing
WSLHD - JMO Trainee Stage 2-4 - Emergency Medicine - Auburn Hospital
The primary purpose of the JMO Trainee Stage 2-4 in the Emergency Department is to provide clinical care, under appropriate supervision, to patients requiring emergency medical services in a complex clinical environment. This includes both Adult and Paediatric patients. This position will provide experience in a critical care environment and have responsibilities and opportunities for autonomous practice commensurate with the level of experience of the incumbent.
The Advanced Trainee is expected to function at a trainee level, supervise and also participate in teaching Junior Medical Officers and Medical Students, and taking part in research where appropriate.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
- Must have completed at least four postgraduate years training including a minimum 12 months full time Emergency Medicine experience in an Australian Public Hospital or equivalent (not as an Observer)
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised setting with commitment to self-education and continuous professional development
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team.
- Ability and willingness to work at the facilities within the Network to deliver patient care and preparedness and ability to participate in 24-hour shift work roster.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
