A-GRADE RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICIAN – ON-THE-ROAD ROLE

Pay: $60 per hour

Location: Melbourne, Victoria

We are looking for a fully qualified A-Grade Electrician to join our residential electrical services team. This is an on-the-road role involving electrical installations, maintenance, repairs and fault-finding across residential properties. We are looking for someone highly capable, extremely reliable and confident completing residential electrical jobs independently.

THE ROLE

You will travel between residential properties and complete a range of domestic electrical work. Typical jobs may include light installation, downlight installation, powerpoint replacement and installation, switch replacement, ceiling fan installation, smoke alarm installation, electrical fault-finding, circuit repairs, switchboard work and general residential electrical maintenance. You must be able to assess each job, identify the correct solution, communicate clearly with the customer and complete the work safely and professionally. You will be responsible for testing your work and completing all required electrical safety documentation.

PAY

The position pays $60 per hour. Consistent work is available for the right person. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated electrician who wants strong hourly pay and regular residential work.

LICENCE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

You must hold a current Victorian A-Grade Electrician’s Licence. You must have proven experience completing residential electrical work. You must be confident working independently without constant supervision. You must understand Victorian electrical safety requirements and current wiring rules. You must be capable of correctly testing, verifying and certifying your electrical work.



You must have experience with residential lighting, powerpoints, switches, circuits, fault-finding and general domestic electrical maintenance.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

You must have your own professional electrical tools. You must have suitable electrical testing equipment required to safely complete and verify your work. Your tools and testing equipment must be maintained in safe working condition.

RELIABILITY AND COMMUNICATION

Reliability is one of the most important requirements for this position. You must arrive on time for every scheduled job. You must respond promptly to calls and text messages. You must communicate immediately if there is any issue affecting a customer, job or schedule. You must be able to follow a daily job schedule and reliably travel between residential job sites. We need someone who can be trusted to attend every confirmed job and complete the work properly without being repeatedly chased or reminded.

WORKMANSHIP STANDARDS

You must produce safe, compliant and professional-quality electrical work. You must protect customers’ floors, walls, furniture and surrounding areas while working. You must keep customers informed about the work being completed. You must leave every property clean and presentable. You must treat customers and their properties professionally and respectfully.



You must never take shortcuts with safety, testing or compliance.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A current Victorian driver licence is required. You must have the right to work in Australia. You must be physically capable of completing residential electrical work, including ladder work and working in roof spaces where required. You must present professionally and communicate clearly with residential customers.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is a recently qualified or experienced A-Grade Electrician with strong residential experience. You should be motivated, responsive and interested in completing a high volume of residential electrical jobs. You should be confident making decisions on site, solving problems and completing jobs independently from assessment through to final testing. This role is best suited to someone who takes pride in their work, wants consistent hours and is strongly motivated by a competitive $60 per hour pay rate.
