This Opportunity
The Team Leader Bunyap Bidee Youth Services provides operational leadership, practice oversight and workforce support across Accordwest's youth homelessness, crisis accommodation and wellbeing services. Supporting young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness, the service provides protected accommodation, wraparound supports and opportunities for young people to develop the skills, confidence and connections needed to achieve independence.
Working closely with the Manager, the Team Leader ensures services are delivered to a high standard and remain strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive and youth-centred. The role coordinates day-to-day operations across crisis and accommodation-based services,
supports effective case management and wellbeing practices, promotes positive outcomes for young people, and ensures compliance with organisational policies, funding requirements and legislative obligations.
Through supervision, mentoring, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, the Team Leader builds workforce capability, strengthens partnerships and fosters a professional, safe and accountable environment where young people are empowered to overcome barriers, sustain housing and create positive futures.
Key Role Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day operational leadership across Bunyap Bidee Youth Services, ensuring high-quality and responsive service delivery.
Lead, coach and support a multidisciplinary team through supervision, mentoring, professional development and performance management.
Promote evidence-informed practice, including trauma-informed care and life skills development
Lead risk management processes, including safety planning, critical incident responses, safeguarding and client wellbeing.
Support young people experiencing homelessness and housing instability to access accommodation, develop independence and strengthen their wellbeing and life skills.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with government agencies, community organisations, specialist services and First Nations communities.
Contribute to service development,
community engagement initiatives and continuous quality improvement activities.
Monitor service performance, data collection, reporting requirements and achievement of service targets and outcomes.
Participate in the Duty Manager roster and provide leadership support to out-of-hours service delivery teams as required.
Represent Accordwest at forums, stakeholder meetings, community networks and working groups.
Skills and Experiences:
Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or similar OR experience in a related service field.
Demonstrated experience managing staff rosters, scheduling and workforce planning with a 24/7 roster.
Experience working within youth homelessness, supported accommodation, youth justice or community services.
Experience leading teams within a community services environment.
Demonstrated high‑level management skills and trauma informed practice
Experience in community engagement and partnership development.
Current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, Department Clearances, and a valid Driver’s Licence.
