Primary objective
The Frontline Systems Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting the Northern Territory Police Force by managing
diverse, complex and high-volume data processing, remediation, and quality assurance activities in accordance with relevant
legislation, policies, and procedures. The role ensures the accuracy, proper interpretation, and thorough documentation of




data across various police business systems. The role will be expected to adapt the way work is conducted, depending on
the project priorities of the Command. The role will provide guidance and support to new and junior members of the team.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage data processing and system integration tasks to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, meeting reporting

requirements and achieving performance objectives.
2. Support the team to maintain efficient workflows and ensure accurate, timely task completion.
3. Help create and implement guidelines to improve data handling and ensure consistent, reliable service delivery.
4. Provide guidance on relevant business systems while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
5. Ensure data integrity and security when exchanging information, in line with relevant legislation and policy.
6. Assist in resolving data-related issues, ensuring deadlines and high-quality standards are met.
7. Facilitate data exchange between internal teams and external clients, partners and stakeholders to ensure services meet

required standards and expectations.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience handling complex data in a regulated environment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance





and achievement of performance objectives.
2. Well-developed oral, written and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and external agencies.
3. Positive analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and create reports and formal correspondence.
4. Ability to review and improve business processes to support efficient and compliant data management.
5. Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
6. Experience working with diverse groups of people, ensuring effective communication, information exchange and

cooperation.
7. Ability to work as an integral member within a team environment while independently managing workload, using

initiative to set priorities and demonstrating problem solving skills with limited supervision.
8. Demonstrated experience in mentoring and providing on the job training to other team members.
9. Highly developed computer skills and working knowledge of electronic systems including Microsoft Word, Outlook and

Excel.

Desirable
1. Knowledge and experience using Police business systems including SerPro, MDEA, IJIS and PDE.
2. Knowledge and understanding of the application of legislation relevant to Banned Drinker Orders and Criminal Records.
