Sydney Fringe Festival is seeking four experienced Event Site Managers to support the delivery of festival events at our Lane Cove and Hurstville precincts in early September 2026.

These roles are ideal for experienced event professionals who enjoy working in dynamic environments and are passionate about delivering high-quality community and cultural events.

About Sydney Fringe

Sydney Fringe is a major cultural organisation and the largest independent arts festival in NSW with over 450 events presented in over 70 venues across Greater Sydney each year. Since 2025, it is a designated Foundation Event of NSW, an accolade which recognises the vital work that Sydney Fringe contributes the independent arts ecosystem. For over sixteen years, Sydney Fringe has provided vital platforms for independent, early-career and professional artists, championing access, expression and sector sustainability.

About the Role

As an Event Site Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of a Sydney Fringe Festival event site. Working closely with festival staff, contractors, venue partners, and stakeholders, you will help ensure event operations run smoothly from setup through to bump-out.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the execution and delivery of assigned Sydney Fringe Festival event sites.
- Coordinate on-site operations and support event staff, volunteers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Act as a key operational point of contact during event delivery.
- Monitor site activities to ensure a safe, efficient, and enjoyable experience for audiences, artists, and stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Support the implementation of event safety, risk management, and operational plans.
- Assist with contractor and supplier coordination throughout the event.
- Manage and oversee event bump-out activities following event close.
- Liaise with AV suppliers and other production contractors to ensure the secure and efficient pack-down of equipment and infrastructure.




- Work closely with site contractors to ensure successful site reinstatement and completion of bump-out activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Previous experience managing festivals, community events, markets, or large-scale public events.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, and event personnel.
- Sound understanding of event operations, site management, and event safety practices.

Desirable

- Current First Aid qualification.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Experience working in outdoor event environments.
- Experience working with local councils, arts organisations, or cultural events.

Availability

Applicants must be available to work one or more event dates in early September 2026, including event delivery and post-event bump-out. Roles will be based at either our Lane Cove or Hurstville festival sites.
