We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-owned civil construction, excavation and demolition contractor with over 30 years' experience delivering major infrastructure, roadworks, commercial and residential projects throughout Sydney.

Due to continued growth and the commencement of a major road infrastructure project , we're seeking experienced GPS Excavator Operators for an immediate start. This role offers 6–12 months of secure work , with excellent opportunities to transition onto future projects across Sydney.

As part of an experienced civil construction team, you'll operate modern excavators on large-scale road and infrastructure projects, completing a variety of precision excavation works while maintaining the highest standards of safety, productivity and workmanship.

Responsibilities

- Operate excavators (5T–50T+) across civil construction and road infrastructure projects.

- Perform bulk earthworks, detailed excavation, battering, trenching and final trim to specification.

- Excavate around live underground services including stormwater, sewer, water, electrical and communications infrastructure.

- Construct road formations, drainage systems, culverts, service trenches, footings and retaining structures.

- Operate GPS machine control systems to achieve accurate levels and minimise rework.

- Read and interpret construction drawings, GPS models and site set-out information.

- Complete daily pre-start inspections, basic preventative maintenance and defect reporting.

Work collaboratively with supervisors, surveyors, truck drivers and other plant operators to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Your Profile





- Minimum 3 years' experience operating excavators on civil construction, roadworks or major earthworks projects.

- Demonstrated experience completing bulk excavation, detailed excavation and final trim .

- Experience working around underground services and within live construction environments.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, protected excavation practices and site procedures.

Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.

- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) .

- Current Driver's Licence (HR Licence highly regarded).

- Nationally recognised Excavator Statement of Attainment (RII Competency or equivalent) .

- Verification of Competency (VOC) for Excavator Operation highly regarded.

- Demonstrated experience using GPS Machine Control (Trimble, Topcon or Leica) is highly desirable.

Additional plant tickets (Loader, Roller, Skid Steer, Dozer or Moxy) will be highly regarded.

- Immediate start.
