We’re looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with a solid command of Java and experience in tools like Selenium and JavaScript to join our client, a global IT consulting firm serving industries such as insurance, healthcare, banking and financial services, media, retail, and others.

This is a 6-month contract role with the potential for extension, based in Sydney CBD. The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days in the office and allowing the rest of the week to be remote.
Key Responsibilities:

- Discover and implement automation opportunities within software testing, operations, and performance monitoring.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within automated systems and processes.
- Develop efficient and reusable automation scripts that adhere to industry standards and security best practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including automation designs, code documentation, and user guides.
- Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and provide constructive feedback to team members.




- Partner with stakeholders to identify and prioritize new automation opportunities that enhance business value.
- Continuously monitor automated systems to detect failures and performance issues, ensuring high availability and seamless operations.

To perform this role successfully, you will require:

- Strong Proficiency in Java
- Proficient in Selenium
- Competent in JavaScript

Additional Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of automation tools such as Playwright, or other current industry tools.
- Expertise in API automation using Rest Assured or similar frameworks.
- Experience in mobile automation testing.
- Banking Industry experience preferred.

Candidates must have full work rights in Australia, which includes being an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or holding a valid work visa that permits full-time employment.
