Senior Speech Pathologist - Team Lead
Clinical
- Assessment, diagnosis of children and young people presenting with communication and/or feeding disorders.
- Plans and provides high level speech pathology services to clients through individual therapy, group therapy, telehealth, home programs and school programs for children.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of therapy programs and services.
- Identifies and documents client goals, evaluate progress and plan re-evaluation.
- Consults with family, school and other relevant stakeholders regarding assessment, diagnosis and management, including for clients with complex needs.
- Provides clinical support and guidance to members of the Speech Pathology and multidisciplinary allied health team.
- Maintains own calendar and client database.
- Maintains client information in accordance with organisational,
professional and the National Disability Insurance Scheme requirements.
- Develops, prepares and presents training for staff in relation to speech pathology interventions.
- Engages in continued career development/education and ensures continued eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Participates in performance planning and performance reviews.
- Performs duties in accordance with organisational Policies and Procedures.
- Performs duties in line with the organisation’s, Speech Pathology Australia’s (SPA) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme’s Codes of Conduct.
- Performs duties in line with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (NDIS Act) and Disability Services Act (1993).
- Performs duties in accordance with relevant Occupational Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity Legislation.
Employment Criteria
- Experienced in managing a general paediatric caseload preferred.
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology, and current registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for supporting and empowering families of children with special needs.
- Current Working with Children Check
- Ability to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check
