About the Role

We are a premium, boutique tutoring agency looking for an exceptional, mathematically solid university student to work with a dedicated high school student in Sydney.

This is a high-yield opportunity to mentor a motivated student through HSC Mathematics Advanced, building genuine conceptual fluency rather than rote formula recall.

Because this role requires confidently navigating the full breadth of the Advanced course — from functions through to calculus and statistics — we are seeking current STEM students or exceptional mathematics scholars from a Group of Eight (Go8) university.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver High-Level Instruction: Confidently break down Advanced-level concepts across the current NESA syllabus.
- Core Topic Focus: Guide the student through functions, trigonometric functions, calculus (differentiation and integration), exponential and logarithmic functions, and statistical analysis.
- Scaffold Complex Content: Move beyond rote computation to help the student master the "why" behind the mathematics, building structural reasoning and exam confidence.
- Structured Sessions: Manage session time efficiently, with clear progression toward specific assessment and exam goals.

What We Are Looking For

- Current Go8 STEM Student: You are currently completing a degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics,



Data Science, or a related STEM field at a top-tier university (e.g., USYD, UNSW).
- Academic Excellence: A strong high school track record, specifically achieving a Band 6 in HSC Mathematics Advanced (or state equivalent).
- Syllabus Familiarity: Deep comfort with the current post-2019 NSW NESA Mathematics Advanced syllabus.
- Communication Mastery: The ability to explain multi-step problems clearly and patiently. Strong computational skills are great, but the ability to teach them is mandatory.
- Able to travel to Camperdown/Newtown for every session — please only apply if this location works for you.
