About Us

Blossoming Kids is a private child & family mental health practice located in Ashmore, QLD. We currently offer Play Therapy, Art Therapy and Counselling, and have a view to expand our team and our services. Our vision is to provide evidence based, holistic mental health support to children, young people and their families in fun and engaging ways. We are passionate about early intervention and creating positive outcomes for children and their families.

Why Blossoming Kids?

We are a well-established business with a small team and are looking for people to help us grow our clinic. Our clinic has full disability access, is quiet and peaceful, we have a welcoming waiting area for parents and it’s fun for the kids! We are a mixed-billing practice, with a split of NDIS, private, third party and Medicare referrals, and a broad range of presenting referral concerns such as trauma, mental health, disability, emotional regulation and relationships, among many others.

The role includes:

- Conducting regular Play Therapy sessions with children aged 3 and up

- Creating goal/treatment plans

- Conducting parent/carer intake and review meetings, providing regular feedback and support to parents/carers

- Experience and confidence working with adolescents and their families

- Engagement in stakeholder contact and meetings,



referring out to other services where required

- Administration tasks such as case noting, report-writing, email/phone contact and requires strong time management skills

- Working with children in out-of-home care and Child Safety

Note: Some of our most common referral concerns are around emotional awareness and regulation, confidence and self esteem, social skill development, anxiety, trauma and neurodivergence, and our most common age range for therapy is 3-13. A lot of our work is with parents and carers alongside the child’s therapy. If you have experience in these areas, please apply!

Requirements:

· Postgraduate qualification in Play Therapy

· Bachelor/undergraduate qualification in the mental health field

· Experience implementing Play Therapy interventions

· Experience working with children, young people and their families, including work with parents/carers

· Solid interpersonal skills and quick rapport-building ability

· Registration with appropriate governing body (e.g APPTA, APTA, AASW, AHPRA etc)

· Experience working in the Child Safety/foster care system will be highly regarded

· Valid blue card

· A positive attitude and a love for play!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $40.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
