About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and knowledgeable Front of House Server to oversee the day-to-day presentation and operation of our front-of-house area.

As one of the first people customers interact with, you will be a welcoming face of Miami Fish Market and play an important role in representing the quality, knowledge and service behind our brand.

The role involves serving customers, sharing seafood knowledge, coordinating front-of-house tasks and working closely with our seafood, sushi, kitchen and wholesale teams to provide a seamless customer experience.

The successful candidate will be confident speaking with customers, proactive in running the front-of-house area and genuinely interested in seafood and premium produce.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the front-of-house area throughout the day, ensuring service runs smoothly and customers are promptly acknowledged and assisted.
- Welcome and serve customers in a friendly, knowledgeable and professional manner.
- Share knowledge about seafood species, provenance, seasonality, preparation, storage and serving suggestions.
- Assist customers in selecting seafood and recommend suitable products based on their needs.
- Process customer orders and payments accurately through the Square POS system.
- Prepare, check and package wholesale and customer orders accurately and to the required standard.
- Liaise with the back-of-house team regarding stock levels,



product availability and stock rotation.
- Communicate low-stock items, customer demand and product issues to management and relevant departments.
- Ensure the front-of-house area, counters, displays, tables and customer facilities remain clean, tidy and well presented throughout the day.
- Prep sauces, condiments and garnishings
- Restock packaging, drinks, condiments and front-of-house supplies.
- Complete opening, closing and cleaning procedures.
- Respond professionally to customer feedback and refer any significant concerns to management.
- Follow all food-safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

- Enthusiastic, friendly and confident when interacting with customers.
- Reliable, punctual and capable of taking ownership of the front-of-house area.
- Knowledgeable about seafood or highly motivated to develop strong seafood knowledge.
- Passionate about premium produce, hospitality and customer service.
- Proactive, organised and able to identify what needs to be done without constant direction.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail and hospitality environment.
- A transparent communicator who can work effectively across multiple departments.
- Accurate when preparing orders, handling payments and communicating product information.
- Well presented and qualified.
- Calm, positive and solutions-focused during busy service periods.

Previous experience in seafood, hospitality, premium food retail or customer service is preferred. Experience using Square and preparing retail or wholesale orders would be advantageous.

Hours and Availability

This is a casual position offering approximately 23 hours per week

Flexible availability across weekdays, weekends, public holidays and peak seafood trading periods is required. Additional hours may be offered depending on business needs.

Pay: $34.76 – $72.00 per hour
