Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Motel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our 20-room motel. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the property, the daily operations of the motel to ensure excellent guest service, efficient business performance, and compliance with Australian regulations. The role includes managing staff, reservations, housekeeping, maintenance, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the motel.
- Monitor room occupancy, bookings, and revenue performance.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS), fire safety, and relevant NSW regulations.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and promptly resolve guest enquiries and complaints.
- Manage reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and daily reception operations.
- Monitor online bookings, pricing, occupancy, and availability.
- Respond professionally to phone calls, emails, and online enquiries.
- Oversee inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
- Develop marketing strategies to increase occupancy and revenue.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, gardens, lawns, swimming pool, BBQ facilities, car parking areas, pathways, and all common areas to ensure they are clean, tidy, safe, and well maintained.
- Monitor the condition of the gardens and lawns, arranging or carrying out routine maintenance to ensure the outdoor areas remain attractive and welcoming.
- Ensure the swimming pool and BBQ area are clean, hygienic, fully operational, and ready for guest use at all times.




- Promptly identify and arrange repairs, maintenance, fixtures, and outdoor facilities.
- Maintain a high standard of presentation throughout the property to create a positive first impression and enhance the guest experience.
- Work closely with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure all areas of the motel consistently meet quality and safety standards.
- Assist the housekeeping team with cleaning rooms, making beds, and preparing guest rooms during busy periods or when staffing levels require additional support.

Essential Skills

- Previous motel, hotel or hospitality management experience.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with reservation/property management systems.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- High attention to detail.
- Valid Australian driver's licence.
- Full Australian work rights.

This is a hands-on management role. The successful applicant will be expected to actively assist with housekeeping, property maintenance, grounds presentation, and all aspects of motel operations to ensure the property is presented to the highest possible standard at all times.
