About the Role

The Property Leasing Officer will ensure the efficient and effective execution of all lease and licence agreements for Council. This role will also provide expert technical advice across all aspects of facilities management and is actively engaged in delivering a project management service to ensure Council’s buildings and facilities operational maintenance works are managed and completed within operational target and budget.

Responsibilities

Utilize knowledge of Queensland legislation, including the Local Government Act 2009, Local Government Regulation 2012, and the Land Act 1994, to manage leasing arrangements and ensure compliance across Council’s property assets.

Interpret and administer leases, licences and property documentation, and provide advice on building compliance and leasing legalities.

Engage with stakeholders, including community groups and industry professionals, to negotiate terms and maintain strong working relationships.

Demonstrate high‑level decision‑making capability and initiative, contributing to the development of effective strategies and processes that support continuous improvement in the property function.

Apply strong organisational and time‑management skills to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within required timeframes.

Qualifications





Proven experience in lease and licence management, or related property functions.

In-depth knowledge of relevant Queensland legislation (Local Government Act 2009, Local Government Regulation 2012, Land Act 1994).

Solid communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to develop and implement policies, strategies and processes to improve property management outcomes.
