The Community and Family Support Program delivers targeted early intervention and support services to children, young people, families and communities across the Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Local Government Areas.

The Community Engagement Worker is an integral member of the team, responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering community-based programs, workshops, events, and activities that foster social connection, community participation and a sense of belonging. Using a strengths-based, person-centred and community-led approach, the role supports the delivery of versatile, inclusive, culturally safe and responsive services that build individual, family and community capacity. The Community Engagement Worker collaborates with community members, stakeholders, and service providers to identify local needs, promote engagement opportunities and contribute to positive outcomes for children, families and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

· Build and maintain effective relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partner organisations.





· Promote awareness of available services and support pathways within the community.

· Plan, coordinate and facilitate community engagement activities, workshops and events.

· Conduct outreach activities to engage vulnerable and hard-to-reach individuals and families.

· Support community members to identify goals and access appropriate services and resources.

· Work collaboratively with schools, health services, community groups and government agencies.

· Assist in identifying emerging community needs and contribute to service development initiatives.

· Maintain accurate records, case notes, reports and program data in accordance with organisational and funding requirements.

· Participate in community networks, interagency meetings and collaborative projects.

· Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with child safe principles, privacy legislation and organisational policies.

About You

You are a motivated and compassionate professional who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities.

Essential Criteria

- Qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Youth Work or a related field (Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher).

- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, community development, family support or a related human services role.

- Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.

- Ability to engage effectively with people from diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds.

- Knowledge of local community services and referral pathways.

- Experience coordinating community activities, programs or events.

- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems.

- Current NSW Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

- Current Working with Children Check.

- National Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain).
