We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising secure cloud platforms that support critical digital, research, analytics, and innovation initiatives. As part of a high-performing multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with software developers, data specialists, architects, and technology partners to deliver scalable, resilient, and modern cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and supporting cloud infrastructure that enables advanced analytics, AI/ML workloads, secure data environments, and modern digital services.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments in Microsoft AzureDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or similar toolsBuild and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent technologiesSupport the deployment of AI/ML platforms, APIs, analytics environments, and secure data pipelinesCollaborate with developers and data specialists to operationalise digital tools and AI-driven solutionsImplement cloud security, identity and access management, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery best practicesMonitor cloud performance, reliability, utilisation, and costs to drive continuous improvementContribute to infrastructure planning, architecture design, and platform optimisationDevelop and maintain technical documentation, procedures,



and architecture artefactsEngage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful technology outcomes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:Minimum 3 years' experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, or a similar roleStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native technologiesExperience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code toolsExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platformsExposure to AI/ML deployment, MLOps, data engineering, or secure platform operationsStrong understanding of cloud security, governance, and operational best practicesExcellent problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and communication skillsAbility to work independently while contributing to collaborative delivery teams

Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and KubernetesExperience designing Azure AI environments and landing zonesExperience supporting digital health, research, data, or innovation-focused environmentsMicrosoft certifications such as: Azure Solutions Architect ExpertAzure DevOps Engineer ExpertOther relevant Azure certifications
