Civil Project Engineer (Tailings Dam Project)

Experience Required

Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of five year experience specifically delivering civil works for mining

tailings storage facility (TSF) or tailings dam projects, including construction, raising, rehabilitation, or

sustaining capital works. Experience should include contractor management, earthworks, water management

systems, quality assurance, and working within operational mining environments.

Location

Site Based, Remote NT Mine Site

FIFO 15 working days, 13 rest days roster, 12 hour days

Start Date ASAP - 4 months work with potential beyond that

Position Summary

The Civil Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of tailings

storage facility (TSF) and associated infrastructure projects, ensuring all works are completed safely, on

schedule, within budget, and in compliance with Glencore standards, regulatory requirements, and industry

best practices.

Working closely with operations, engineering consultants, contractors, and technical stakeholders, the Civil

Project Engineer will oversee construction activities, manage project interfaces, and support the delivery of

critical tailings infrastructure while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship,

and quality.

Key Responsibilities





Coordinate the execution of tailings storage facility construction and upgrades.Ensure all works comply with approved designs, technical specifications, and quality requirements.Coordinate with the Engineer of Record (EOR), engineers, consultants, and site operations.Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.Prepare scopes of work, technical documentation, tender packages, and contractor evaluations.Monitor project costs and forecast expenditure against approved budgets.Facilitate site meetings, progress reporting, and stakeholder communications.Ensure compliance with applicable mining legislation, environmental approvals, dam safetyrequirements, and company standards.

Esential Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Mining or related discipline).Minimum 5 years; experience delivering mining tailings storage facility (TSF) or tailings dam projectswithin the resources sector.Experience managing bulk earthworks, embankment construction, water management infrastructure,and associated civil works.Experience working on brownfield and/or greenfield mining projects.Robust understanding of geotechnical and civil construction principles.Current drivers licence.
