The School of Nursing and Midwifery is at the cutting-edge of nurse education and research, through the provision of innovative, high-quality education and translational research that makes a difference to the lives of people in our communities locally, nationally, and internationally. For over four decades, the School of Nursing and Midwifery has been educating Nurses and Midwives in Western Australia.

The School is rated number 1 in WA for Nursing (Undergraduate overall experience) and is proudly ranked 29th in the world for its nursing program (Shanghai Rankings 2025). ECU graduates the most registered nurses in Western Australia, as well as providing a comprehensive range of postgraduate programs of study which prepare students for positions in the nursing and midwifery professions.

The School also hosts the only dual degree of nursing and midwifery and the only Masters of Nurse Practitioner course in WA.

About the Chance

Reporting to the Clinical Practice Manager, the Clinical Practice Facilitator (Nursing) has a key role in certifying all students enrolled in all entry to practice courses within the School of Nursing and Midwifery can demonstrate competence in clinical skills. The role supports teaching and assessment by certifying that clinical skills can be demonstrated in workshops for all practicum units, inclusive of low-high fidelity simulation activities, as well as providing the site-based clinical facilitation and supervision of students while undertaking clinical placement.

- Support nursing and midwifery students’ clinical skills development
- Monitor clinical skills content with evidence-based practice within industry
- Support teaching and assessment by demonstrating and certifying clinical skills in workshops for all practicum units

Applicants should please note they will be required to travel to and work from various metropolitan health sites, as their ordinary place of work to visit students on practicum.

About you

Key Criteria

- Bachelor of Science (Nursing and/or Midwifery) or equivalent Postgraduate qualification. Eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- WA National Police Clearance
- Department of Health Western Australia Criminal Screening Clearance
- Working with Children Check
- Evidence of immunisation screening clearance as per Department of Health Guidelines
- Current CPR Certificate and Manual/Patient Handling Certificate
- Respirator Fit Test
- NDIS Clearance
