Better Health Family Clinic is a busy, patient-focused bulk billing practice providing accessible high-quality healthcare to our diverse community.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated 2IC/Senior Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced medical receptionist who is ready to take the next step in their career and take on additional leadership and operational responsibilities.

Working closely with the Practice Manager and clinical team, the 2IC/Senior Receptionist will assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice, provide leadership and support to the reception team, and help maintain a high standard of patient care and service.

The successful applicant will be confident, organised, approachable and able to lead by example in a busy general practice environment.

The role will involve a combination of senior receptionist duties, team leadership, patient service, administration and practice support, with the successful applicant expected to step into additional responsibilities when required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Practice Manager with the day-to-day running of the practice
- Provide leadership,



guidance and support to reception staff
- Assist with training, onboarding and mentoring of new team members
- Support the coordination of reception workflows and daily clinic operations
- Assist in ensuring staff follow practice policies and procedures
- Provide support and leadership to the team when the Practice Manager is unavailable

About you:

You will ideally have

- Previous experience as a GP medical receptionist
- Experience in a senior reception, team leader or 2IC position
- Knowledge of Medicare and bulk-billing processes, Work cover and TAC
- Knowledge and efficiency in Best Practice software a must
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of patient confidentiality, privacy and skilled boundaries
