The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Aboriginal Talent Business Partner within our Recruitment Services Team.
About The Role
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the Aboriginal Talent Business Partner will manage the end-to-end recruitment process, work with hiring managers across the department to understand recruitment needs, and ensure target hires are achieved for all prioritised, designated and un‑identified roles. The role involves navigating the complexities of recruiting for a diverse range of positions, providing expert advice to regional stakeholders on Aboriginal cultural issues, employment policies and legislation, and advocating for the Department.
With a hybrid working model, the role combines flexibility with meaningful on‑site engagement, including travel to prisons and community centres, building strong relationships and gaining firsthand insight into the environments being hired for.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide qualified recruitment consulting services to hiring managers,
candidates and staff.
- Undertake the full recruitment lifecycle: job briefing, advertising, sourcing, shortlisting, interviewing, background checks and offer management.
- Provide accurate and timely advice on recruitment processes, relevant policies, best‑practice methodologies and legislative requirements.
- Contribute specialist advice to regional stakeholders on Aboriginal cultural issues, employment policies and legislation to ensure target hires and vacancy management.
- Assist in developing job descriptions, assessment materials and post‑assessment processes for Aboriginal prioritised and designated positions.
- Participate in industry events, career expos, community forums and initiate contact with local community groups and professional networks.
