VERIFY Medico-Legal Solutions (VERIFY) is a Queensland-based medico-legal provider connecting lawyers, insurers, and government agencies with medical specialists to deliver independent medico-legal services. We coordinate independent medical examinations (IMEs), expert witness reports, and medico-legal education services to support personal injury and insurance claims across Australia. The Chance
VERIFY needs an exceptional Accounts Officer to join our team. This is a part-time role working from our Brisbane CBD office.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including bank reconciliations, processing and reconciling invoices, payments and receipts using Xero and internal systems.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including preparing, issuing and processing client and supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor outstanding accounts, allocate payments, reconcile remittance advices and follow up overdue invoices.
- Prepare specialist statements and request invoices from medical specialists, ensuring accurate filing and record keeping.
- Liaise professionally with lawyers, medical specialists and other stakeholders regarding invoices,
payments, remittance advices and billing enquiries.
- Maintain accurate financial records, case billing information, specialist fee schedules and other accounting data within Xero and internal systems.
- Manage the accounts email inbox, ensuring enquiries are responded to promptly and actioned appropriately.
- Maintain supplier, contractor and client account records, including onboarding new contacts and ensuring data integrity.
- Prepare routine financial reports and reconciliations to support management and month-end reporting.
- Assist with general finance and administrative tasks, including maintaining financial documentation and supporting continuous improvement of accounts processes.
About You
Our clients and network of medical specialists have high expectations, so accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism are essential. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using Xero and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a collaborative approach to working within a supportive team environment.
- Sound numerical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- A minimum of one (1) year's experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration role.
