Description: About the role: We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across our organisation. This position is crucial to maintain the integrity of financial data, supporting informed decision-making and driving strong financial governance. You will take ownership of core accounting activities, including general ledger management, reconciliations and the preparation of key financial statements.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors, you will contribute to month-end and year-end processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. What does this role involve?
General Ledger Maintain General
Ledger master data and ensure data integrity
Prepare and post journals, ensuring completion through to trial balance
Deliver balance sheet, P&L; and accruals analysis
Perform timely and accurate reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
Manage intercompany recharges and resolve discrepancies
Partner with external auditors, providing required documentation and insights Reporting Deliver month-end reporting in line with deadlines
Support preparation of year-end financial statements in accordance with relevant standards
Assist with forecasts and business planning processes
Support tax compliance across FBT, GST, PAYG, Income Tax (AU) and Payroll Tax
Maintain Fixed Asset Registers across AU & NZ, including IFRS16 leases, capitalisation, depreciation and disposals
Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements and internal control frameworks Cash Flow & Support Monitor and report on monthly cash movements
Record daily cash transactions and maintain accuracy
Support liquidity planning through daily and monthly cash flow forecasting

Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience post-qualification
At least 3 of those years at a Big4 accounting firm (PwC, EY, Deloitte or KPMG)
CA/CPA qualified or currently working towards certification
Strong working knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Demonstrates a mature, self-motivated approach with strong judgement
Effective communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
