Job Overview We are currently looking for an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counsellor to provide evidence‑based therapeutic intervention to individuals and groups. The role includes delivery of the group day programme, individual counselling for clients with problematic AOD use (maximum of four clients per day), onsite in‑person supervision and debriefing. This is a full‑time maximum‑term position based at our Mackay office until June 2027.

The hourly rate is dependent on experience and includes superannuation and salary packaging of up to $15,900 annually.

Responsibilities Deliver evidence‑based therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups, manage a caseload of up to four clients daily, facilitate group programmes, develop individual treatment plans, write accurate reports and case notes in compliance with legislative requirements, and participate in case conferences and team discussions.

Qualifications - Established career in AOD or mental health with experience in group facilitation and case management.

- Background in developing individual treatment plans and facilitating group programmes.
- Robust understanding of cultural awareness and safety, able to support people from diverse backgrounds.
- Self‑starting and self‑managing,



capable of managing caseloads independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence to contribute to case conferences and team discussions, eager for ongoing change and improvement.
- Ability to produce accurate, relevant reports and case notes complying with all legislative requirements.
- Applicants currently studying allied health disciplines are encouraged to apply.
- Valid Qld Blue card and open drivers licence required.
