The Department of Education is looking for Assisted Travel Support Officers (ATSOs) on a temporary basis during the school year.
The Assisted Travel Support Officer (ATSO) plays a key role in supporting the delivery of protected, reliable, and effective transport services for students with disability across New South Wales. The role is responsible for supporting students on transport services during travel.
Job opportunities available for locals in many areas within NSW and we are currently targeting candidates in Griffith and surrounding areas.
As an ATSO you will:
· Play a significant role in meeting the needs of eligible students with disability by ensuring they get to school safely and ready to engage in learning · Provide support to students with disability, including those with behavioural and/or health support needs, in line with individual plans.
· Be provided training in Child Protection, Code of Conduct, Anaphylaxis, eEmergency care and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
· Be provided with guidance from school staff and ASTP personnel to ensure consistent and appropriate support.
About you
· Respectful and understanding of students with disability · Clear and effective English communication skills (written and verbal)
· Experience supporting people living with disability is desirable
· You are over 18 years of age and physically able to support students with disability
· Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
- This is a child-related role. As a condition of employment, you will be required to provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number (for paid employment). Visit the website for more information.
