China Construction Bank is offering an exciting full time permanent role for a Associate Director - Project Finance to join our well-established organisation as we continue to expand.

About this role

This role is within Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) department and located at our Sydney branch. The key focus of this role is to support the Project Finance Team with developing project finance businesses and managing all aspects of project finance transactions, including origination and execution of new project finance opportunities as well as on-going portfolio management.

Skills and Experience

- Be Tertiary qualified with a business, math or science degree, legal training will also be highly regarded;
- Have at least 6 years project finance, specialised institutional lending, advisory or principal investment experiences with a commercial bank or fund or a debt advisory firm;
- Have experience with financial modelling;
- Be comfortable working with clients and managing deal team members, depending on the level of experience and role;
- Have excellent attention to detail, communication skills and ability to work in a small team environment;
- Ideally you have a network of project finance space with exposure to the mining, or infrastructure and energy sectors; and
- This role would be ideal for an experienced senior associate level professional to step up to junior associate director position or a junior associate director who seeks a new opportunity.

Key priorities and responsibilities include:

- With the support of junior members, conduct in-depth research and market studies on target industries, authorities and regulations, project finance;
- Assist the senior leadership to review potential opportunities and prepare transaction bidding proposals, including term sheet drafting and pitch book preparation;
- Provide structuring inputs for new transactions through thorough credit analysis and financial modelling;
- Prepare memos with recommendations on commercial/credit decisions as part of day to day work;




- Prepare credit paper and lead/support the senior leadership on the internal credit process;
- Assist the review and negotiation of finance documentation with the ability to run and close live transactions, or with limited senior leadership support;
- Conduct periodic reviews of transactions and monitor credit risks; and
