About the role

Destiny Therapy Group is seeking experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners who want the independence of managing their own client base while accessing the systems and infrastructure needed to operate successfully.

This opportunity is designed for practitioners who already have their own clients and referral relationships, or who are confident in independently developing their own caseload.

Destiny Therapy Group operates as a facilitator of behaviour support services. We provide practitioners with access to our organisational infrastructure, systems and custom-built Behaviour Support Practitioner CRM.

We do not allocate clients, provide leads or guarantee referrals. You will be responsible for sourcing, developing and maintaining your own client base.

In return, you will receive 88% of the applicable service fee, inclusive of superannuation.

Based on the current NDIS Behaviour Support rate of $252.99 per hour, you will receive $222.63 per billable hour, inclusive of superannuation.

This is an opportunity to retain the majority of the income generated from your services while avoiding the need to develop all of the systems, technology and compliance infrastructure required to operate independently.

What you’ll be doing

As an independent subcontractor, you will be responsible for managing your own clients and delivering high-quality behaviour support services.

Your responsibilities will include

- Sourcing and maintaining your own clients and referral relationships
- Conducting functional behaviour assessments and other relevant assessments
- Developing interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans
- Delivering evidence-based and person-centred behaviour support interventions
- Consulting with participants, families, support coordinators, service providers and multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting implementing providers to understand and implement behaviour support strategies
- Monitoring participant progress and reviewing behaviour support plans
- Completing accurate case notes, assessments, reports and compliance documentation
- Providing practical guidance and education to participants, families and support teams
- Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding and duty-of-care concerns
- Maintaining professional boundaries and complying with relevant ethical requirements
- Meeting applicable NDIS Commission, restrictive practice and reporting requirements
- Managing your own appointments, availability, travel, documentation and stakeholder communication

Unlike generic practice-management systems, our CRM has been specifically designed around the work, documentation and compliance responsibilities of Behaviour Support Practitioners.

- Participant and stakeholder details
- Appointments and service delivery
- Case notes and practitioner records
- Behaviour support assessments and plans
- Restrictive practice information
- Compliance requirements and documentation
- Important due dates and review periods
- Practitioner credentials
- Invoices and payments
- Caseload and service activity

Our goal is to reduce unnecessary administration and provide practitioners with one centralised system through which they can manage their behaviour support practice.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking practitioners who are experienced, self-directed and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred behaviour support.

You will ideally have

- Current NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner suitability, or eligibility to obtain suitability
- A relevant qualification in psychology, social work, counselling, developmental education, occupational therapy, disability or another relevant discipline or suitable experience in the industry
- Experience completing functional behaviour assessments
- Experience developing interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans
- A sound understanding of positive behaviour support and evidence-based practice
- Knowledge of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements
- Knowledge of regulated restrictive practices and relevant reporting obligations
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills
- The ability to independently manage deadlines, documentation and stakeholder communication
- Strong skilled judgement and the ability to work autonomously
- A commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed and rights-based practice
- An existing client base, established referral relationships or the demonstrated ability to independently generate referrals
- An active Australian Business Number
- Appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- A current Working with Children Check,

- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Reliable internet access, suitable equipment and reliable transport where face-to-face services are delivered

What we offer

Working with Destiny Therapy Group provides you with the independence of operating your own caseload while having access to established systems and organisational infrastructure.

You will receive

- 88% of the applicable service fee, inclusive of superannuation
- $222.63 per billable hour, inclusive of superannuation, based on the current NDIS rate of $252.99 per hour

Important information about client referrals

Destiny Therapy Group does not provide or allocate clients to practitioners.

You will be responsible for sourcing, developing and maintaining your own clients and referral relationships.

No minimum caseload, number of referrals, billable hours or level of income is guaranteed.

This opportunity is best suited to an established Behaviour Support Practitioner, or a motivated practitioner who is confident in developing their own referral pathways and client base.

The model provides greater independence and a higher practitioner percentage than many traditional employment or subcontractor arrangements.
