Mech3D is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day finance activities and help strengthen the systems and processes supporting our continued growth.

The fundamentals matter: accurate accounts, payroll, reconciliations, end-of-month and BAS completed properly and on time. However, we are also looking for someone who can understand how financial information moves through the business, identify where things could work better and help us build more efficient and scalable ways of working.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys getting the numbers right but also wants to improve the systems behind them.

ABOUT MECH3D

Mech3D is a privately owned Western Australian structural steel fabrication and project delivery business supporting the mining, construction, manufacturing and maintenance sectors.

From our Kewdale workshop, we deliver design, engineering, fabrication, installation and site-based services across projects of varying size and complexity.

Mech3D has grown quickly, and we are continuing to invest in the systems, technology and capability required to support greater project volume and complexity. We are building a more disciplined and scalable business while retaining the practical thinking, accountability and teamwork that have shaped us so far.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the CEO, you will:

- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments, customer invoicing and debtor follow-up.

- Process payroll, superannuation and associated reconciliations.

- Maintain accurate and current financial records in Xero.

- Complete bank, payroll and balance sheet reconciliations.





- Coordinate end-of-month bookkeeping activities.

- Prepare, reconcile and lodge BAS.

- Support cash flow forecasting and routine financial reporting.

- Work with our project team to resolve missing information required for invoicing and cost allocation.

- Identify opportunities to improve financial workflows, controls and reporting.

- Help develop, document and embed finance systems and processes that can scale with the business.

As part of a broader privately owned business group, you may also provide financial support to related entities as required.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an experienced, hands-on Bookkeeper who is comfortable taking ownership of recurring financial responsibilities and following issues through to resolution.

You will ideally bring

- Practical experience managing end-of-month bookkeeping and BAS.

- Experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and reconciliations.

- Strong working knowledge of Xero and Excel.

- An understanding of GST, PAYG withholding and superannuation obligations.

- Robust attention to detail and confidence questioning information that is incomplete or does not reconcile.

- An interest in technology, connected systems and process improvement.





- Experience improving or documenting financial processes

- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Directors, project teams, employees, customers and suppliers.

A Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping would be advantageous, as would experience within fabrication, construction, engineering or other project-based businesses.

You’ll work closely with our Directors and project team, with visibility into how financial information supports real commercial and operational decisions. The role also offers exposure to other businesses within our broader privately owned group.

We remain a practical, down-to-earth business, but we are serious about where Mech3D is going and the capability required to get there.
