SPR and KL Macnamara are seeking a Broadacre Farmhand/Agricultural Plant Operator/Truck Driver to join our team in Pingelly, WA 6308. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to work across multiple aspects of broadacre farming operations. You will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of our farm, contributing to the success of our agricultural enterprise through hands-on work with top-quality/modern machinery, livestock management, and transport operations.
This is an essential position that directly impacts our productivity and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and maintain broadacre farming equipment including tractors, harvesters, and other agricultural machinery
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on farm equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with crop planting, cultivation, and harvesting operations as required
- Transport agricultural produce, equipment, and supplies using trucks and other vehicles
- Manage livestock handling and care tasks including feeding, watering, and general welfare monitoring
- Maintain farm infrastructure including fences and gates
- Operate in compliance with health and safety regulations and farm protocols
- Assist with general farm maintenance and cleaning tasks
- Keep accurate records of operations
- Work flexibly during peak farming seasons when extended hours may be necessary
What we're looking for
- Proven experience working on broadacre farms or in agricultural operations
- Competency in operating tractors, harvesters, and other heavy farm machinery
- Ability to drive trucks and possess a current, valid licence
- Experience with livestock handling
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs on farm equipment
- Physical fitness and capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to undertake training and develop current skills
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in farm machinery operation are advantageous
- Experience with GPS technology and precision farming is desirable
