The company you'll join

They're a multi award winning Melbourne management consultancy that transforms culture and behaviour inside large organisations. Their view is that most businesses have more potential than they realise.

The ingredients are there, the formula is missing. When purpose, strategy and culture pull in different directions, even very good people cannot do their best work. Getting them pulling together is the whole job.

In practice that means culture transformation and organisational review, safety and psychosocial work, strategy resets, leadership development and capability uplift, increasingly extending into how organisations absorb AI and digital change, where the technology is only half the problem and the people are the other half. They pair psychological rigour with genuine creative firepower, including an in house creative arm that builds the campaigns and communications that make change actually land. Left brain and right brain, as they describe it themselves.

Founded around twelve years ago, they work at chief executive and board level with household name retailers, ASX listed businesses and government departments, and their client testimonials come from chief executives by name.

Culturally they're a small, sharp, deliberately non corporate team of eight,

growing to ten. Their consultants have come from acting, advertising and behavioural psychology. Values are lived rather than laminated, shared and acknowledged every Monday.

The impact you'll make

This is a newly created role, and it exists because there is more opportunity in front of this business than it currently has the capacity to chase. Their edge is noticing things. Something surfacing in one industry that is about to land in another. A pattern in the AFR that connects to a conversation the founder had last month. An opportunity sitting inside an existing client that nobody has yet had the room to pursue.

You would own what happens next. Sit in that room, take what surfaces, and turn it into something. Map the market and work out who a given insight is truly relevant to. Build the story that makes a senior leader want to take the meeting. Reach out, hold a real conversation, ask the questions that open something up, and bring what you learn back to the consultants who can act on it.

You would do that with the full weight of the organisation behind you. The founder, the general manager and the consulting team will brief you, share what they know and take the meetings you open. The market is niche and the engagements are significant, so depth wins. You are not expected to answer the complex questions a consultant would answer.

There is a writing and shaping element too. You would help build the proposal content and pitch material that follows a good conversation, working alongside the consultants,

which is where the storytelling gets put to work properly.

Your first months lean on what already exists. There are warm relationships, promising conversations and untapped chance inside current clients, and your early wins come from picking those up and moving them forward before you venture wider.

You would also shape the commercial engine. There is a Pipedrive licence and a clean slate, so whatever process you build becomes how this business does business development.

Working alongside the founder and the general manager from day one, the pathway from here into consulting is real and deliberately open. Learn to open the door and then learn to do the work behind it.

The experience you'll bring

Around ten years of working life behind you, enough to understand how organisations are put together, what different functions actually do, and how to hold your own with a senior executive. The wiring matters far more than the resume. This is a business that has consistently hired curious, quick thinking people from unexpected places and given them the room to grow.

So this is worth a look if you have come from media or journalism and can find and tell the story buried in a pile of information. From an agency, embedded with a client, quietly finding your own work inside their business. From advertising, where selling an idea to a room was the job.

From teaching, and you know exactly what leap you want to make next. From a consultative sales role and you are ready for something less off the shelf. Or from somewhere else entirely, and this is the first advertisement that has described the way you think.

What you'll need is real curiosity, the ability to take several unrelated pieces of information and turn them into something a senior person finds worth their time, and the confidence to be the one who reaches out first.
