We are seeking a motivated and experienced butcher or meat processing worker to join our processing team. Must be able to process all the species we slaughter Camel, Beef, Donkey and Deer.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, trimming, cutting and processing meat products while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality assurance and export standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Select, trim, cut and prepare meat products for processing and sale
- Remove bones, trim fat and prepare meat to required specifications
- Operate meat processing equipment, including slicing, mincing, grinding and cutting machines
- Prepare meat portions according to production schedules and customer specifications
- Prepare marinated and seasoned meat products where required
- Monitor product quality and identify meat that does not meet quality standards
- Package, label and arrange meat products for storage and distribution
- Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and safe operating practices
- Assist with stock rotation and minimize product waste
- clean and maintain processing equipment and work areas
- Work collaboratively with production staff to achieve daily production targets
Essential Requirements
- AQF Certificate 3 in Meat processing (or equivalent), or at least two years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in meat cutting, trimming and processing within a commercial meat processing environment
- Ability to safely operate meat processing machinery and equipment
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality assurance procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting
- Positive communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
