About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Cafe Chef to join the team at Our Tribe Cafe on Kirra Beach, Queensland. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a vibrant cafe environment. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality cafe fare in a fast-paced kitchen setting, working alongside a dedicated team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our customers.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of cafe menu items including breakfast dishes, lunch specials, and baked goods to consistent quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workspace in accordance with food safety regulations and cafe procedures
- Manage cooking times and temperatures to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and served promptly to customers
- Follow recipes and plating guidelines to maintain consistency across all dishes
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and address any special requests or dietary requirements
- Assist with food preparation, stock management and inventory checks as required
- Contribute to menu development and suggest current dishes or improvements to existing offerings
- Uphold high standards of food presentation and quality control

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a chef or cook in a cafe, restaurant or similar hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods suitable for cafe menus
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety,



hygiene standards and compliance requirements
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple cooking tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality, consistently presented dishes
- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to adapt to changing menu demands and cafe schedules
- A genuine passion for food and creating memorable dining experiences for customers
- Must be able to work weekends
