About the role

DKG Building and Development is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Perth, North of the river, this role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse building and development projects across the region. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fittings, playing a crucial part in delivering high-quality builds that meet our clients' specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

- Measuring, marking, and cutting timber and other materials according to specifications and plans
- Assembling and installing wooden structures, including frames, flooring, roofing, and wall panelling
- Installing doors, windows, and other fixtures with precision and attention to detail
- Preparing and finishing surfaces, including sanding, staining, and varnishing as required
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete carpentry work
- Reading and interpreting architectural drawings and blueprints to ensure accuracy
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborating with other tradespeople and site teams to ensure project timelines are met
- Conducting quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations

What we're looking for

- A recognised carpentry qualification or apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in the carpentry trade
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and measurement equipment
- Strong understanding of building codes, health and safety regulations, and best practices in carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications




- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
- Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to adapt to casual work schedules
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport to various job sites
- Working with Timber Framing, Cabinet Making, or Joinery experience is highly desirable
