About Us:

Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood is looking for a motivated Chef de Partie to join our growing kitchen team. This role is ideal for a strong Demi Chef or experienced Commis Chef who is ready to step up and take ownership of a section in a structured hotel environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Working under the direction of the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for managing your section and ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional food quality and presentation
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in line with established standards and guest expectations
- Ensure accurate portioning and high-quality plating, including garnishes and sauces
- Manage mise en place and raw ingredients, including preparation techniques such as marinating and seasoning
- Accommodate guest dietary requirements and special requests, including allergen awareness, vegetarian, and gluten-free options
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Monitor temperatures of grills, ovens, and refrigeration equipment to ensure food safety and freshness
- Assist with stock control, including ordering, stocktaking,



portion control, and minimising wastage
- Support the Executive Chef with menu development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance, training, and support to junior chefs and apprentices

What We’re Looking For:

- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
- Current NSW Food Safety / Food Handling certification
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, with a guest-focused mindset
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
