Jack’s Pipe & Civil is a civil drainage contractor working across Brisbane and South East Queensland. We’re looking for a motivated Civil Labourer or Junior Pipe Layer who wants to build a long-term career in civil drainage.
This isn’t just another labouring job.
We’re looking for someone who wants to learn the trade properly and become a quality pipe layer.
You’ll work directly alongside one or both of the business owners, receiving hands-on training every day on live civil drainage projects.
We put a lot of time into preparing jobs before they start. We use GPS rovers, personalised trenching models, and are constantly improving the way we build our projects to make life easier for the people on site.
If you’re someone who asks questions, wants to improve and takes pride in your work, you’ll fit in well with our team.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll receive practical, on-the-job training in:
- Laying sewer mains
- Laying stormwater
- Laying water mains
- Constructing manholes and pits
- Reading construction plans
- Setting out trenches and levels
- Installing shoring systems
- Pressure testing water mains
- Concrete finishing
- Working safely around live services
- Operating plant and equipment
- Civil construction safety and WHS
As your experience grows, you’ll also have the opportunity to progress into pipe laying and continue building your career within the business.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in Civil Construction (civil drainage preferred)
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Construction White Card
- Own transport
- PPE
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors
