Rockhampton Hospital is Central Queensland's referral hospital — 305 beds, and it covers specialist medical, surgical and emergency services for the whole region. Visiting tertiary specialists work here regulalry, the facilities are up-to-date, so patients can get complex care without having to travel to Brisbane.

Orthopaedics sits inside a busy surgical unit — four theatres, two procedure rooms, a six-bed ICU — and gets through a real volume of elective and emergency work. It's accredited for specialist training and involved in teaching and research.

About the role:

- Lead Orthopaedics across Central Queensland Health — set the clinical direction and help drive outcomes for patients across the region.
- Take on the strategic and operational side of the service,



and build a culture where patient safety and QI are integral.
- Mentor and supervise medical staff, trainees and students — help shape the workforce coming up behind you.
- Keep at least 0.5 FTE clinical work.
- Help shape orthopaedic services.

Selection Criteria

- FRACS
- Extensive clinical experience with very good knowledge and skills aross orthopaedic surgery.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.

- Experience in education programs.
