The Role An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-robust team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

- Provide input into the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols that enhance the delivery of mental health services to consumers with an acute mental health issue
- Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue including mental health risk assessment and risk management plans
- Coordinate the treatment planning, interventions, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programs and support services aimed at maintaining optimal level of consumer functioning in the least restrictive setting
- Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide integration and coordination between different sites or programs

About you To be successful in this position you will require:

- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

- Permanent full time and permanent part time (several positions, hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $113,979 - $122,048 per annum, $57.48 - $61.55 per hour

About UsThe Gold Coast Acute Community Mental Health services provide 24-hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care service. This includes: the first point of contact for the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service Mental Health Service to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. Telephone triage, crisis intervention, clinical assessment-in reach into emergency departments and community via Co-responder teams, screening admissions to public mental health inpatient services.
