Position Summary

The CNC Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CNC Laser Profile cutting machines to produce high-quality components for manufacturing. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC Laser Profile cutting machines.
- Load, unload, and safely handle steel, aluminium, and other metal materials.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
- Program, adjust, and optimise machine settings to achieve accurate cutting results.
- Perform machine changeovers and tooling adjustments as required.
- Conduct first-off inspections and quality checks using measuring equipment.
- Ensure all finished components meet quality specifications and tolerances.
- Identify machine faults and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Complete routine maintenance and daily machine inspections.
- Monitor material usage and minimise waste.
- Work closely with production, fabrication, and welding teams to meet manufacturing deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organised,



and safe work environment.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Previous experience operating CNC Laser Profile cutting machines.
- Experience within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of measurement and quality control.
- Experience using measuring equipment including tape measures, verniers, and calipers.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety.

Desirable

- Experience operating Trumpf, Bystronic, Bodor, HSG, Mazak, or similar laser cutting machinery.
- Forklift Licence.
- Overhead crane experience.
- Metal fabrication or manufacturing background.
- Basic CNC programming knowledge.
- Trade qualification in Engineering, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.
