Nexev® is a Sydney-based medical technology company developing DIALIQ®, a clinician-facing platform designed to identify intradialytic hypotension risk earlier during haemodialysis.

DIALIQ combines machine-learning prediction, dialysis treatment data and automated blood-pressure monitoring to support safer and more responsive clinical workflows.

This is a core founding-team role for someone who wants meaningful ownership, responsibility and long-term involvement in building a medical technology company.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder and CEO to lead Nexev’s technical strategy and execution across artificial intelligence, software architecture, clinical data systems and connected medical-device development.

This is not a narrow coding position. We are looking for someone who can identify technical priorities, challenge decisions, conduct experiments, solve difficult problems and progressively take ownership of the technical company.

Key Responsibilities include : Lead the technical roadmap for DIALIQ

Strengthen and validate the intradialytic hypotension prediction model

Own model deployment, versioning, testing and reproducibility

Lead backend, API, database, cloud and cybersecurity architecture

Ensure alignment between model outputs, backend services,



stored data and the user interface

Support integration of the blood-pressure module, Raspberry Pi and connected-device workflow

Design safe handling for missing data, device failure, model failure and offline operation

Contribute to technical risk management, quality documentation and regulatory preparation

Recruit, supervise and review technical contributors

Participate in selected clinician, hospital, investor, product and regulatory meetings

Translate clinical requirements into reliable technical systems

Help build Nexev toward hospital validation, investment and commercial deployment

We are particularly interested in current postgraduate students, recent graduates and early-career technical leaders based in Sydney.

Relevant backgrounds may include

Artificial intelligence or machine learning

Computer science or software engineering

Biomedical engineering

Medical-device engineering

Physiological signal processing

Embedded systems, IoT or mechatronics

Data science or health informatics

Backend, cloud or clinical-data architecture A PhD, MPhil or Master’s degree is highly regarded. Strong undergraduate candidates with substantial technical, startup or product-development experience will also be considered.

Long-term ambition to build Nexev into a significant medical technology company The expected initial commitment is at least 20 hours per week, distributed consistently across the week. The candidate should be able to:

Maintain regular communication

Provide clear progress updates

Attend scheduled technical meetings

Take ownership of agreed workstreams

Increase involvement as the company progresses

Consider transitioning into a full-time technical leadership role after funding Nexev primarily works across Campbelltown, Lidcombe and Parramatta, depending on the project. Some work can be completed remotely, although regular in-person collaboration in Sydney is strongly preferred.

The role includes meaningful co-founder equity, subject to:

A founder trial period

Demonstrated technical performance

Sustained commitment

Long-term alignment

Formal vesting and cliff arrangements

Intellectual-property and confidentiality agreements There is a pathway to a paid full time CTO position following sufficient funding, subject to company circumstances and mutual agreement.

The CTO title and final equity allocation will be earned through demonstrated contribution and working alignment.

Review of previous work or projects A short practical technical assessment A founder trial involving a real Nexev workstream

Final discussion regarding title, responsibilities, equity and vesting
