Justice Network is seeking a Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based in our Brisbane office.
As a Commercial Litigation Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic legal advice and representation to our clients across a broad range of commercial disputes and litigation matters.
This position is integral to our litigation and dispute resolution practice, enabling us to deliver high-quality legal services to clients navigating complex commercial challenges.
What you'll be doing
- Advising clients on commercial dispute resolution strategies, including litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms
- Drafting and reviewing legal pleadings, applications, and court documents for commercial disputes
- Conducting legal research and preparing detailed advice on commercial law matters
- Managing client relationships and maintaining regular communication regarding case progress and strategy
- Representing clients in negotiations and settlement discussions with opposing parties
- Preparing cases for trial and appearing in court as required
- Reviewing and analysing commercial contracts to identify potential disputes and liability issues
- Supporting senior litigation practitioners and collaborating with colleagues on complex matters
- Maintaining detailed case files and ensuring compliance with court procedures and deadlines
What we're looking for
- Relevant post-qualification experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence law, and court processes
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly
- Proficiency in legal research and analytical problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team environment
- A commitment to professional development and staying current with developments in commercial law
- Experience in contract negotiation and dispute management is highly desirable
