The Opportunity We're looking for an Commercial Insectary Technician to join Australia's leading provider of beneficial insects and integrated pest management solutions.
As our Commercial Insectary Technician, you'll learn every aspect of our commercial insectary operation while working alongside experienced industry professionals. Initially, you'll become familiar with our products, insect cultures, production systems and specialised equipment, progressively taking ownership of designated production lines and contributing to the successful rearing and supply of beneficial insects.
This role has been identified as part of the business's long-term succession planning. As you develop your knowledge and capability, you'll have the chance to take on increasing responsibility and, for the right person, progress into future leadership opportunities within the insectary.
Reporting to the Insectary Manager, you'll play an important role in maintaining production quality, supporting daily operations, and contributing to the continued success of our commercial insectary.
Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Daily operational and maintenance duties across the greenhouse, nursery and grounds.
- Water, feed and regularly monitor cultures within your area of responsibility.
- Harvest organisms on a regular basis.
- Learn and operate specialised insect production equipment and processes.
- Progressively take ownership of designated production lines.
- Complete minor maintenance and repairs to equipment as required.
- Assist with the weekly packaging and distribution of customer orders.
- Assist with cultures as required to ensure sufficient quantities are developed to fulfil weekly orders.
- Comply with WHS employee roles and responsibilities as detailed in the WHS Manual.
