Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the commercial function throughout the pre-contract phase, providing strategic oversight during bid preparation, contract review,



negotiations, and project acquisition activities.
- Develop and execute commercial strategies that drive business growth, maximise profitability, and effectively manage commercial risk.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate commercial, contractual, financial, and operational risks across the tendering and pre-contract lifecycle.
- Review, draft, and negotiate complex contractual agreements with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and joint venture partners.
- Establish and maintain robust commercial governance, approval processes, and risk management frameworks to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with estimating, business development, and operational teams to ensure commercial obligations, risks, and opportunities are accurately reflected in tender submissions and delivery strategies.
- Provide strategic commercial advice to senior leadership on contractual matters, risk exposure, commercial opportunities, and negotiation strategies.
- Monitor market conditions, contractual trends, legislative changes, and industry best practices to continuously improve commercial performance and governance.

What You’ll Bring:

- Significant experience in commercial management, contracts management,



or pre-contract roles within the construction, engineering, infrastructure, resources, energy, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success managing complex tenders, bids, and commercial negotiations for major projects.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial risk allocation, procurement methodologies, and governance principles.
- Proven ability to negotiate and administer high-value, complex commercial contracts and contractual arrangements.
- Highly developed commercial acumen with the ability to balance commercial risk, prospect, and strategic business objectives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Business, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline – Desirable
