About the opportunity

Are you passionate about mental health and suicide prevention? Join a dedicated team working to strengthen community connections and improve wellbeing across the Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday region.

We are seeking a Community Engagement Worker to support the delivery of the region’s Suicide Prevention Community Action Plan (SPCAP). Using a collective impact approach, you’ll help drive local engagement, build awareness of suicide prevention strategies, and promote access to support services. Strengthen referral pathways for individuals at risk by linking them to appropriate services

About You

You are an excellent communicator with a strong understanding of community engagement principles. You’re passionate about mental health, proactive in building relationships, and confident working both independently and collaboratively.

Required Compliance

Relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in working in the mental health or community services sector, generally Certificate IV or Diploma qualification (Health/Mental Health)

Right to work within Australia





100 points of identification

Current valid Driver’s Licence and the ability to undertake some travel

Satisfactory National Police Records Check

NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Working with Children's Check (Employee/PAID) Desirable

Experience in Community Development and/or Suicide Prevention.

Experience with program planning, development, coordination and delivery. Demonstrated experience and or transferable skills/ knowledge in working with people who have experienced suicidality or bereavement What we offer you A purpose-driven, inclusive, and supportive workplace
