About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring compliance across both higher education and vocational education frameworks, including TEQSA and ASQA standards.
You will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring policies, procedures and operations meet legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
TEQSA Compliance:
- Monitor and interpret the Acts and Standards that govern Australian higher education including the Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021
- Support development and review of academic and operational policies
- Assist with provider registration, course accreditation and quality assurance activities
- Contribute to legislative reporting including PIR, TCSI student data and annual declarations
ASQA Compliance:
- Monitor and implement requirements against legislation and standards such as the 2025 Standards for RTOs and the National Code.
- Support audit readiness, applications, notifications and annual declarations
- Maintain and update policies and procedures in line with regulatory changes
- Partner with trainers and stakeholders to ensure VET compliance obligations are met
- Coordinate internal audits across training, assessment, marketing and student records
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, business, compliance or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in compliance within an RTO or higher education provider
- Strong working knowledge of ASQA and TEQSA regulatory frameworks
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret legislation and translate it into practical application
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Experience with student management systems such as VETtrak or Meshed (desirable)
