Conservator Grade 2
Full time, 4 years contract
Powerhouse Castle Hill
Join the Powerhouse Museum and play a key role in preserving one of Australia's most significant and diverse collections. As a Conservator, you will manage conservation projects and support the care, preservation and accessibility of collection objects across exhibitions, research, public programs and acquisitions.
This is a hands-on role where you'll assess and manage new acquisitions,
prepare detailed conservation assessment reports, undertake complex conservation treatments, coordinate collection care activities, and ensure the safe storage and environmental management of collection objects. You'll work closely with internal teams to support exhibitions, events, research access and collection storage, while contributing to preventive conservation initiatives and best-practice collection care.
We're looking for an experienced conservator with a tertiary qualification in conservation (or equivalent), at least five years' experience working with collections, excellent project management and report writing skills, and the ability to build solid relationships across multidisciplinary teams. Experience with collection management systems such as EMu and SAP will be highly regarded.
If you're passionate about preserving cultural heritage and want to contribute to the future of one of Australia's leading museums, we'd love to hear from you.
