n About the role

n The Cook supports the delivery of a high‐quality, safe and resident‐centred dining experience by preparing and presenting meals that meet organisational standards, dietary needs and resident preferences. The role works under the direction of the Home Services Lead and collaboratively with the Chef to ensure meals are enjoyable, consistent and contribute to resident dignity, wellbeing and comfort. As a key member of the kitchen team, the Cook maintains a clean, safe and productive work environment, follows established procedures and supports positive interactions with residents, families and colleagues.

- Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirementsn
- Ensure all meals meet IDDSI, allergen, cultural and texture‐modified needsn
- Deliver meals that are well‐presented, appetising and served at the correct temperaturen
- Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operationsn
- Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standardsn
- Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaning logs and production recordsn

n Role requirements

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)n
- Food safety knowledge and secure food handling practicesn
- Understanding of special diets, allergens and IDDSI requirementsn
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow directionn
- Strong communication and teamwork skillsn
- Commitment to resident‐centred care and positive dining experiencesn
- Basic computer and documentation skillsn
- Experience in aged care or healthcare food service (highly regarded)n
- Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policiesn
