Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of seafood, grilled dishes and other menu items in accordance with the restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
- Assist with daily food preparation to ensure ingredients are ready for productive kitchen operations during service periods.
- Monitor cooking times and presentation to ensure every meal is served consistently and meets customer expectations.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to coordinate meal preparation during busy service periods.
- Inspect ingredients before use to ensure freshness, quality and compliance with food safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen while following food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Store food items correctly and monitor stock rotation to minimise waste and maintain product quality.
- Assist in receiving kitchen deliveries and report any shortages or quality concerns to senior kitchen staff.
- Support the development of seasonal dishes and contribute ideas to improve menu offerings where appropriate.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and assist in maintaining kitchen equipment in good working condition.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of Experience as a Cook is mandatory.
- Experience working with seafood and grill-based cuisine will be highly regarded.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
