Nosey Neighbour Café is coming to Whittlesea, Victoria, and we're looking for an experienced Chef / Cook to join us from the beginning of our journey.
We're building more than just a café. We're creating a welcoming local meeting place where great food, great coffee and great conversation bring people together.

About The Role
As a Chef / Cook at Nosey Neighbour Café, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality food and helping create an exceptional experience for our guests.
Your responsibilities will include
- Preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard
- Maintaining food quality and presentation during busy service periods
- Following food safety and hygiene standards
- Managing prep and stock rotation
- Assisting with ordering and inventory control
- Operating and maintaining bain-marie service and hot-holding equipment where required
- Working collaboratively with the front-of-house team
- Contributing ideas and helping us continue to improve

We're looking for someone who is:

✔ Committed to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen
✔ Able to communicate effectively with both BOH and FOH teams
✔ Holds a current driver's licence and has their own reliable vehicle
Experience & Qualifications
Preferred experience includes
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a café, restaurant or hospitality venue
- Minimum of 2 years cooking experience is required for this role
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Experience working in fast-paced service environments
- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Experience operating bain-marie service and maintaining food quality in a hot-holding environment (highly regarded)
Relevant food safety qualifications are highly regarded.
Food safety qualifications must be obtained within 30 days of commencement if not already held.
- Australian citizenship is required for this position

Location
This position is based in Whittlesea, Victoria.
Due to the location and early hospitality start times, applicants must have their own reliable vehicle and the ability to travel to and from work independently.
